Councillor Details

Ben Walker
Ben was born and brought up in a farming community in Dorset. After leaving full-time education and working abroad in Zambia and Thailand, he moved to Shropshire in February 2000 to work in local government before settling in Broseley in March 2001. Ben is married with three children, who all attend local schools, and he is also the Chair of Committee at The Mount Nursery, a local charity that provides childcare and education to young people in the town.

Ben is educated to degree level and is currently employed by Shropshire Council in the community working team. Over the past 20 years, Ben has worked with and supported local communities, both in this country and overseas. He wanted to become a local councillor to make a positive contribution to the work of the Town Council for the benefit of those who live and work in the town.

Ben was co-opted onto the Town Council in September 2010 and is independent of any political party.
