Condover Play Area Project
OFFICIAL OPENING OF CONDOVER PLAY AREA
Following the completion of the Condover Play Area and Woodland Path; the official opening of the area took place on Saturday 28th April 2012. The Cutting of the ribbon was done by local MP Daniel Kawczynski and a member from the Hilton Jones trust who gave a very generous donation towards the completion of the play area. There was a good turn out by local residents and refreshments of Tea/Coffee and celebration cake were enjoyed by all. The rain even managed to stay away for the ceremony which took place at 11am.

More photos taken from the event can be found on the Parish Councils Flickr site.

Following some unforeseen delays with the installation of the play equipment & access path we are now delighted to have the Condover Woodland Park open!!!
_________________________________________________________________
Already there have been lots of children playing there and after speaking to some of them in the last few days they are thoroughly enjoying having this new local facility.
Please take some time to walk through the woodland and appreciate the lovely setting of the play area and the walk ways for Condover residents to enjoy.
This is only the first phase of the project that was part of the successful planning application, and after the very kind donation from the Hilton Jones Trust , we will hopefully be starting the second phase in Spring 2012, of the pathway through the woodland.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the local businesses & residents who have donated money to enable us to purchase a wooden noticeboard for the entrance (to be installed during November) along with 20 bird & 10 bat boxes that have already been installed around the woodland.
We will soon be sending out our first 'Buddies of Condover Woodland Park' Newsletter which will give you an insight into what birds can been seen in the woodland over the autumn/winter months so if you would like a copy please contact myself (clairealford@hotmail.com) or Lauren Hackett (laurenhackett@yahoo.com)
Buddy Fundraising Scheme - Report by Rachel Johnson
For the community to fully realise the full potential of 'Condover Woodland Park' there is much work to be done and money to be raised! We are launching 'Condover Woodland Park - Buddy Scheme' to encourage the whole community and beyond to be buddies and as a 'buddy' to the scheme, you will receive e-updates on the progress of the Condover Woodland Park.
A 'buddy bung' could be £1, £2, £5 £10 or £50,000, whatever you can afford!! Condover Youth Club are giving the first 'buddy bung' by donating their weekly subs to the scheme on March 14th.
A 'busy buddy' would be someone who would be able to offer time to the scheme maybe by being on the committee, fundraising or doing some tree planting, maintenance or other kinds of work at the site. We already have many 'busy buddies.'
A group of 'beavering buddies' would be a selection of people (with CRB checks) that would like to organise and supervise special activities at the site in the future, maybe water play or play ground equipment, circuit training, maintenance, storytelling or BBQ's.
A 'bonus buddy' would be a business that would like to sponsor a bird or bat box, a bench or piece of equipment or an event at the site.
You are of course welcome to be as many types of 'buddy' as you like to help the project and we will have a celebration when we reach 500 'buddies'!
To become a 'Condover Woodland Park Buddy' please fill in the form enclosed in your next Parish Newsletter or you can download and print out the form from this website and give or send it to the Parish Clerk Sue Hackett, Gonsal House, Condover, Shrewsbury, SY5 7EX or the Chair of the Play Area Sub-committee, Claire Tolley, 45, Grange Lane, Condover, SY5 7BE.
