Other settlements are:

  • Hopesay
  • Broome
  • Round Oak and
  • Long Meadow End

Parish Council meetings

A notice for each Parish Council meeting is posted a week before on the parish notice board. Members of the general public are welcome to attend meetings. There is a 15 minute period at the start of each meeting, when you can speak to the Council. After that you are welcome to stay and listen only to the rest of the meeting.

If you feel strongly about any topic concerning the parish, come to Parish Council Meetings and ask questions, state your point of view, or complaint. That's what the Parish Council is there for.

NOTICE (27/4/2011)

Hopesay Parish Council NEEDS YOU!

VACANCY FOR PARISH COUNCILLOR

There being no nominations or requests for elections, Hopesay Parish Council would like to fill 3 vacancies for parish councillors by co-option. All expressions of interest from eligible persons will be enthusiastically received.

The Parish Council would particularly welcome interest in becoming a parish councillor from younger residents, from the farming community in the parish, from residents in Aston or Broome, from female residents, from new residents, and any other sectors currently under-represented on the council; as this will help to create a balanced parish council, representative of the parish as a whole.

Do you know anyone you think would make a good parish councillor? Please ask them to come forward and serve on the council. Why not try it for a year?

Meg Gwilliam

Clerk to the Council
