Montford Countryside Group

Walking

The group attempts to keep open, Bridleways and Footpaths for Shropshire County Council.  They also undertake other volunteer duties.  Maintaining pool area's to a standard required for wildlife habitats.  Grass cutting and general maintenance work.  If you would like to become involved in the many varied tasks undertaken, please contact the group through this web site.  We would also  be interested in a volunteer who would lead a local walking group.  Some people are a little concerned about using public footpaths by themselves.

PLEASE NOTE THE HEDGES FACING INTO A BRIDLEWAY MUST BE CUT, ALL ACROSS FIELD PATHS CLEARED OF CROPS AND OBSTRUCTIONS

FREE FOOTPATH AND BRIDLEWAY MAPS ARE AVAILABLE, CONTACT THIS WEB SITE.

IF YOU FIND A PATH REQUIRES ATTENTION PLEASE RING 01743 850570.  WE WILL ATTEMPT TO CLEAR THE PROBLEM IN THE SHORTEST POSSIBLE TIME.

ONCE AGAIN DAMAGE CAUSED BY HEDGECUTTERS TO STILES AND FINGER POSTS IS A PROBLEM.  IT IS NOT VERY CLEVER AND THE COST INVOLVED IN REPLACING COULD BE PASSED TO THE FARM CONCERNED.  AT LAST WE CAN FIT STEEL POSTS SO WATCH OUT YOU TRACTOR DRIVERS.
