"North Shropshire cricketers scored a six with Council support and National Lottery funding. North Shropshire Cricket Forum obtained a grant of over £4,000 to develop cricket in the district. North Shropshire District Council Sports Development Officers gave support and advice to the cricket forum ensuring their success in the National Lottery application. The project called Action after ashes focuses on the development of cricket in the district with girls only sessions for new players, coaching education and support for local cricket clubs"
