Some of the services we provide:
We help local councils by advising on problems of legal, technical, insurance or administrative nature. Anything we can't deal with we "Know a man who can" at many organisations including NALC.
We speak for local councils on matters affecting them which arise in Shropshire and the Borough of Telford & Wrekin by direct representations to the local authorities, health authorities, water companies and other public utilities etc.
Our contacts include direct links to both central government and Shropshire's MPs and MEPs.
We lobby and respond to consultation documents on issues such as town and country planning, health and community care services and local government.
We provide access to many relevant publications, most of which are available through this website.
In conjunction with the Shropshire Training Partnership we facilitate training courses for clerks and councillors.
We regularly liaise with the Shropshire Council and Telford and Wrekin Council to strengthen and improve communications between the three tiers of local government and promote partnership working.
