Rev Turner was born in Cumberland and brought up in Durham, he read history and polictics in Dublin, ordained and worked in Durham, cambridge, Loughborough and Staffordshire. Wa an independant member of Standards Committee in Staffs Moorlands Council, stood for Borough Council for Selattyn and gobowen Ward. 3 Children and 4 grandchildren

On leaving school she worked with a number of employers including North Wales Newspapers, Express foods, Oswestry Borough Council before retiring as a Cook/Carer at Nightingale. House, Bacharach.
She was interested in Old Tyme Dancing until her partner died. She is a member of All Saints Church, Gobowen, being a Warden on three separate occasions. She has been a member of the Parish Council for 30 years, being Chairman and Vice Chairman during 1990/91. She is also vice Chairman of the Oswestry Rheumatology Association for over 30 years and a Trustee of SILO Central since its formation.
She supports all Christian activities at the Methodist and Preeshenlle Chapel and a Member of the Mothers Union and Ladies Guild. She is also a member of the Parish Council' Cemeteries Committee

After he left Oswestry Boys High School 3 School he worked on his father's farm Until the outbreak of war. As he was already in the Territorial Army he was called up and served in the Middle East and Italy. After the war he remained in the T.A., for further 7 years.
He married in 1946 and was a tenant of a Public House for 8 years: after which he worked for Monsanto Chemical Industry as a Senior Technician in the Silicon Department, for 16 years, only leaving to join Pilkington's Fibre Glass Ltd at Wrexham, in the Production Department where he stayed until he retired form work.
He was a former President of Oswestry Cottage Hospital League of Friends; Oswestry Borough Council members for 30 years: Chairman of Planning for 5 years: made an Honorary Freeman of the Borough: served as a School Governor on four schools, including Chairman of one these and finally he has spent 44 years as a Parish Councillor and he still pursue an active interest in local affairs. He is currently a member of the Parish Council's Planning Emergency
Committee.

I have lived in Gobowen for most of my life, I have three grown up children.
I have been a Parish Councillor for over 25years at present I am chairman of the Playing Field Committee and a member of the Cemetery Committee. I served four years as a Borough Councillor. I am also Clerk to St Martins Parish Council.
I have, in the past been involved with many voluntary organisations in the village but age and grand children mean I have less time and energy to spare. So now I spend my free time going to the gym/classes at the Lion Quays and looking after my grand children.

Originally from Runcorn in Cheshire, John has lived in Gobowen since 1973. He spent more than twenty years as District Secretary to the Engineering Union during his employment at Widney Enclosures at Oswestry and he was also delegate to the Oswestry Trades Council.
John is now employed as an Employer Partnership Officer with 'A4e' based at Wrexham and Mold in North Wales
He has been a Member of the Parish Council since May 1999 and is now a member of the, Planning Emergency Committee and the Pavilion and Playing Fields Committee.

On leaving Oswestry Boys Modern School at the age of 16 he joined a local firm of Architects and Surveyors, working and training with them for 5 years, then moving to a similar company working in London for a further 6 years.
Between then and approximately 12 months ago when he set up his own company in partnership with his son Steve has worked in Local Government within Shropshire and various National and International Surveying company's.
Steve is a Chartered Surveyor and a Chartered Builder.
He lives in Selattyn in the house he was born in. Historically Steve has been a School Governor, a Scout Leader and a Mountaineering Trainer and Treasurer for a Sea Cadet Unit in Telford. Steve is actively involved in events in the village, including the village Fete, charitable walks etc.
New to the Parish Council, Steve is keen to make a contribution to the work of the Council, he has an interest in footpaths and planning issues but is willing to have a go and contribute to any issues that may arise.
