Erica Morgan (chairman) 01691 680277
Originally from Solihull in the West Midlands she met her husband at North Shropshire Polytechnic. She moved around Lancashire and Scotland and worked as a computer graphics studio manager until settling down in Selattyn close to her husband's family in Chirk. Erica and David have two children aged 13 and 11 both of whom attend The Marches School. Whilst they were growing up Erica was involved with the local pre-school and parents and toddler groups helping to both run and fund raise. She also chaired the Oswestry Racecourse Management Association for four years during which time the Association completes a number of environmental and visitor information projects and continues to be a member. Erica has been a Parish Councillor since 2004 and has found the experience most interesting and worthwhile, trying to address a wide range of views and topics. She is a member of several parish sub committees, a local amateur radio group, Shropshire Raynet and Powys 4x4 club (both voluntary emergency response groups), Vyrnwy valley riding club and Oswestry full bore shooting club. Erica also works part time as the extended school co-ordinator for Trefonen Primary School as well as being a governor there and is also a lead reiner for a local Riding for the Disabled group once a week. Any spare time is usually spent walking the dog and tidying the house and garden!

Ron Jones (vice chairman) 01691 777611 Was born and bred in the parish and with his wife Monica lived at Sarn Farm whre they brought up their four children, now they have eight grand children. He was a Borough Councillor for eight years and a member of the Parish for four years. He is a member of the Orthopaedic Male Voice Choir and is a preacher and Church Warden. He enjoys walking and cycling and enjoys the wonderful countryside. His greatest passion is to introduce people to the One who created it all. He is also a member of the Parish Council's Planning Emergency Committee and Pavilion and Playing Field Committee.

Ian Bennett 01691 655812 Having previously lived in Gobowen village, Ian and his wife have now lived in Selattyn for 21years. They have two children aged 20 and 17. He became a Member of the Parish Council over twenty years and is currently the Chairman of the Parish Planning Emergency Committee and a member of the Parish Cemeteries Committee. He is also a Trustee of the Hanmer Morris Charitable Trust.

Tim Kirk 01691 653332 Tim moved to Selattyn some 8 years ago with his wife Sue and his their absent family, three children working in London or Australia, and two dogs. On leaving the regular army in 1970 he has spent the last 35years in the UK Forestry Industry; his main job is buying wood for various clients in Wales and England. He own woodland near to Selattyn and spends much of his time improving its conservation and commercial value. His main interests are the Parish Council work and is currently the Chairman of the Parish Council's Cemeteries Committee. He also serves as a Parish representative of both the Oswestry Racecourse Management Association and a Governor on the Selattyn Primary School Governing body. His main interests apart from woodlands are in walking and country sports- though good food comes a close fourth.

Ann Evans 01691 661220 On leaving school she worked with a number of employers including North Wales Newspapers, Express foods, Oswestry Borough Council before retiring as a Cook/Carer at Nightingale. House, Bacharach. She was interested in Old Tyme Dancing until her partner died. She is a member of All Saints Church, Gobowen, being a Warden on three separate occasions. She has been a member of the Parish Council for 30 years, being Chairman and Vice Chairman during 1990/91. She is also vice Chairman of the Oswestry Rheumatology Association for over 30 years and a Trustee of SILO Central since its formation. She supports all Christian activities at the Methodist and Preeshenlle Chapel and a Member of the Mothers Union and Ladies Guild. She is also a member of the Parish Council' Cemeteries Committee.

Reg Bowyer 01691 772603 After he left Oswestry Boys High School 3 School he worked on his father's farm Until the outbreak of war. As he was already in the Territorial Army he was called up and served in the Middle East and Italy. After the war he remained in the T.A., for further 7 years. He married in 1946 and was a tenant of a Public House for 8 years: after which he worked for Monsanto Chemical Industry as a Senior Technician in the Silicon Department, for 16 years, only leaving to join Pilkington's Fibre Glass Ltd at Wrexham, in the Production Department where he stayed until he retired form work. He was a former President of Oswestry Cottage Hospital League of Friends; Oswestry Borough Council members for 30 years: Chairman of Planning for 5 years: made an Honorary Freeman of the Borough: served as a School Governor on four schools, including Chairman of one these and finally he has spent 44 years as a Parish Councillor and he still pursue an active interest in local affairs. He is currently a member of the Parish Council's Planning Emergency Committee.

John Thorpe 07779187909 Originally from Runcorn in Cheshire, John has lived in Gobowen since 1973. He spent more than twenty years as District Secretary to the Engineering Union during his employment at Widney Enclosures at Oswestry and he was also delegate to the Oswestry Trades Council. John is now employed as an Employer Partnership Officer with 'A4e' based at Wrexham and Mold in North Wales He has been a Member of the Parish Council since May 1999 and is now a member of the, Planning Emergency Committee and the Pavilion and Playing Fields Committee.
