Central Shropshire Partnership
Welcome to the Central Shropshire Partnership
Following the establishment of the new Shropshire Council we have established three Area Partnerships for the new Northern, Southern and Central Areas. The Central Area covers the former Shrewsbury & Atcham council area including the town and rural areas.
The Area Partnerships are focussed on delivery and to provide a strong voice for the area. The Area Partnership's are part of the new Community Working service and work closely with the Local Joint Committees and with the Shropshire Partnership.
The Central Shropshire Partnership is governed by an Executive Board and has a budget for 2009-2010 of £160,000 for delivery and works through four Delivery Groups to deliver projects to improve the Central area.
Central Delivery Groups
The Central Shropshire Partnership has established four Delivery Groups and a number of Task Groups to represent key central organisations and partners and to develop and deliver projects to improve the Central Area.
The Delivery Groups meet regularly and produce an annual Delivery Plan with project ideas and a short briefing is available after every meeting and will be available on these pages.
Please click on the pages in the left-hand navigation pane to find out more about the Board and Delivery Groups.
PROJECTS TO IMPROVE THE CENTRAL AREA

What future projects should we develop - what are the top needs of the Central area?
The Central Area Delivery Groups are already thinking of future projects to develop and are seeking ideas to put to Delivery Groups and to develop into full Delivery Plans to be discussed by the Executive Board for funding. We set out below some of these project ideas and seek your views.
Do you think our projects are moving in the right direction?
What project ideas do you think we should develop?
New project ideas:
We are working with Severnside Housing, Age Concern and Shropshire youth to develop an intergenerational project to bring younger and older together to share skills and experience e.g. IT and gardening.
To plan a joint multi agency approach to a safer bonfire night to identify public and community sites and work with the police, fire service, youth service, social landlords and communities to hold safe planned events
To work with Rea
Valley Environmental Network and partners to test the feasibility of reducing flooding and increasing sustainable water use through clearing water runaways, identifying safe soak areas, encouraging green roofs and use of water butts etc.
To develop small business ideas to support events in the Quarry and other Central locations e.g. hire of chairs & food hampers, wet weather protection and to work with transport services e.g. Wrexham Rail,to improve visitor
packages and tourism and shopper access.
