Community Plan
It seems in these frugal times it is essential for a Parish to have a Community Plan in order to access a wide variety of grants and assistance. The Plan needs to identify those things which matter to those of us who live in Weston under Redcastle Parish and help individuals or groups to get action taken. A Parish Plan can also influence the Shropshire Council and other Agencies in the development of their own strategic plans.
The Steering Group was set up following a meeting of the Parish Council in January and in due course the Parish Council will be invited to adopt the Parish Plan.
Our first task is to produce a Questionaire so that everyone's views can be taken into account. So that we can make the questions more appropriate, we are studying other Parish questionaires and we are keen to identify any Key Issues relevant to our Parish which need to be included. We hope to distribute the Questionaire this summer, following a public meeting in the Spring at which a draft Questionaire can be discussed and at which everyone can have an opportunity to raise any Key Issues we may have missed.
Of course you may have ideas which you would like us to bear in mind right now. These could be features of our Parish which you value and wish to protect or services or facilities which we do not have at present but which you would like to see. They may relate to safety, to crime prevention, traffic issues, access to recreational facilities, parish footpaths, transport, medical services, trees and wildflowers, water and sewerage services, broadband access, communication of Parish events or activity groups and lots more.
Experience elsewhere has shown that a Parish Plan can bring about real improvements, attracting support and money for realistic projects. Please be part of your Parish Community.
