Report Of The Parish Council Meeting September 1st 2009
Allotments- The Hinstock Allotments Association has now produced a plan of the individual allotments so that Agreements can be prepared. The fencing has also been agreed, and should be done shortly.
Memorial Hall - The Hall now has its own website.
The lighting on the Car Park has been completely destroyed by vandals and the Parish Council has obtained quotes to replace it. It was suggested that it might be safer to put the lights on the apex of the Hall, so further quotes will be requested.
The Play Area has recently had a Safety Inspection.
The Parish Council would like to thank Mr Andy Clarkson from Roman Way, who has given his time and energy to renewing the bark and generally bringing the Area up to standard. The Parish Council is very grateful.
The Snooker Club has requested financial assistance to move the electricity meter into the Memorial Hall. This was agreed, subject to three quotations being supplied.
The Recreation Ground the Cycle Ramps have now been installed, and are well used. Councillors are concerned about the safety of smaller children, and it was agreed that children under twelve must be supervised by an adult.
Shropshire Council has invited the Council to request Vehicle Activated Signs for the Parish. It was agreed to request the signs for the approaches to the School.
Speed Limits at Lockley Wood - Shropshire Council has produced plans for a speed limit at Lockley Wood. The P.C. will request that the limit is extended a further 60 metres in the Market Drayton direction, and also request "Red Carpets" and a traffic mirror for Swan Bank.
Speed Limits at Shakeford will also be requested.
Fun Day - was a great success, in spite of bad weather.
Emma-Jane Ellison from Shropshire Council attended the Meeting to discuss planning for emergencies. The Parish Council will complete a Community Emergency Scheme for Hinstock, and she will come to another meeting to discuss the way forward.
Wind Turbine at Lockley Wood - The application has been withdrawn.
Helicopter Noise - The RAF are using larger helicopters, and complaints have been received about them flying too low. Councillor Harvey will take the complaints to the Meeting of the Helicopter Noise Liaison Group on September 22nd 2009.
Parish Plan - the Committee is currently waiting for quotes for a questionnaire for all Parishioners. When the questionnaire is produced they will be hand delivered to every household.
The Bearcroft Councillors are concerned about the potential danger of the old pump house in the Bearcroft. The Clerk will contact the owner about this.
