The Leighton Road Safety Partnership has been set up to allow residents to campaign for the safe use of the public highway in the Village of Leighton. For over 40 years attempts have been made to introduce road safety measures in the Village. A recent test has shown that vehicles regularly pass through the village at over 70 miles per hour.
