Welcome to the Shropshire Association of Local Councils website
Local Councils form the most local level of government. As elected bodies they are responsible for the people they represent. Some of their responsibiliities including decision making, monitering and most importantly being connected to the communities they represent.
SALC provides a wide array of important services to local councils. We strive to make sure that local councils are represented at a strategic and commissioning level through working closely with our partners in Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin Council. In addition, we ensure local councils are provided with a strong support network to ensure that local councils have training and technical advice available to them at all times. We aim to provide our local councils with the advice, support and forward thinking to make sure local councils adapt to the challenges ahead.
Our membership is open to all local councils and parish meetings on payment of a small annual subscription. The one subscription covers membership of both SALC and the National Association of Local Councils (NALC).
