Craven Arms Town Council

 
 

Craven Arms is a small town situated in the beautiful surroundings of the South Shropshire Hills. The Town takes its name from the coaching inn that was built around 1800 to serve the needs of travellers. Craven Arms is easily accessible via the A49 trunk road and the main Manchester to Cardiff railway. The station is also the junction for the Heart of Wales line. The town has a population of around 3,000. The Town Council consists of 15 councillors to serve the two wards of Stokesay and Halford.

Town Council Meetings are usually held on the last Tuesday of the Month at Craven Arms Community Centre commencing at 7.30pm.

At the commencement of each meeting the Parish Council allows for members of the public to raise issues regarding matters included on the agenda.

In compiling the site links has been made to locally developed sites and to Shropshire Council which contain valuable information in relation to the Town Council Area for which the Town Council is grateful.

The Chairman of Craven Arms Town Council Mr C Leworthy had the pleasure of awarding long service poppy collection 25 Year certificates to Kathy Berry and Louise Wadsworth and 15 year Certificates to Jill Bound and Cyril Bason Shop at the Town Council Meeting held on the 25th October 2011.
