On completion the site will provide access facilities for a range of disabilities on places to eat, drink and visit.  Under the Market Town headings, details will be provided on how to navigate each town along with maps on each of the key market towns. Maps will also give information on inclines, parking and accessible toilets.

What's On

'Open Door Shropshire' Project Awareness

A Shropshire Star reporter has met  Ann Johnson (Project Manager) to navigate part of Shropshire in a wheelchair to understand what the lack of information means to a person with a disability. A full page feature appeared in August 2010 Shropshire Star

Shropshire Access Group has asked Ann Johnson to provide them with a talk on the OpenDoorShropshire project.

HEFF Heart of England Fine Foods  run a feature on the project to inform their members of the opportunities to advertise their access facilities.

A BBC reporter joined Ann in Shrewsbury in April to look at the great lengths pubs and restaurants have gone to provide accessibility best practice.  This was aired on Radio Shropshire on the Breakfast Show (23rd Apri)
