Shropshire Partnership

The Shropshire Partnership brings together public service providers to work collaboratively to improve the quality of life in Shropshire.  Our vision is for A Flourishing Shropshire.  Partners include Councils, public sector agencies, the voluntary and community sector, business, young people and equality and diversity communities.  The Shropshire Partnership is the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) for Shropshire and its key role is to oversee the delivery of the Community Strategy.

Pride of Shropshire Awards 2011
The Shropshire Partnership is pleased to announce that the fourth annual Pride of Shropshire Awards ceremony took place on 7 July at Shrewsbury Town Football Club. The awards provided the opportunity to celebrate Shropshire's unsung heroes.

Margaret Deakin, farmer and fund-raiser from Bouldon was crowned overall winner, Margaret farms 200 acres alone, but still finds time to serve as a parish councillor and organises quiz nights, bingo sessions, fun nights, the village harvest festival and Christmas meals out for local residents. Fellow local residents say 'If you want something done, ask Margaret'.

Broadband Funding
Shropshire Council wil be working with Telford & Wrekin Council to make the most of the funding recently announced. The amount allocated to Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin Council is #8.2 millon.  For more information please click on the following link Broadband Funding.

Keep Shropshire Warm
The Keep Shropshire Warm scheme is a countywide initiative, originally funded by DEFRA, which works in conjunction with The Shropshire Partnership and Shropshire Council. The scheme, which is managed by Marches Energy Agency, seeks to identify and assist households who are struggling to afford a reasonable standard of heating. Through effective energy efficiency advice and grant schemes to help finance affordable warmth measures, Keep Shropshire Warm endeavours to tackle fuel poverty within Shropshire households and will offer advice to anyone regardless of their circumstances. For futher information please go to www.keepshropshirewarm.org or telephone 01743 277123.
